  • Create a directory for each month. For example:

    ../pictures
          /2003-01-January
              /Party
              /Business Trip
              /Hockey Game
          /2003-02-February
              /Ski Vacation
          /2003-02-March

    etc...
  • Organize however you like within the months, but you should always be able to find a picture based on when the event happened.

  • Keep the originals!  Before you start enhancing pictures, I suggest saving the originals so you always have them.

  • Make backups!
